Ecole Conte takes part in competition organised by Textile Addictd
Ecole Conte is taking part in the competition organised by the textile community site Textile Addict on the festive theme of ‘DRESSEUR DE TABLES – setting the scene!’ running from January 15th to February 15th 2019.
Students on the Textile and Fashion Design Bachelor course have been invited to design a motif to be woven as a Jacquard fabric that takes into consideration both the technical constraints of this method, and the artistic codes of the home linen brand Dresseur de Tables, based in the Drôme region of France.
The keynote of the competition is the Made in France concept, and it is a wonderful opportunity to champion our national ‘savoir-faire’.
Those taking part in the competition include industry professionals, students and also enthusiasts. The results will be published on March 28th 2019. As this is an educational initiative too, Textile
Addict provides support to contestants throughout the competition, providing advice and guidance on development focus areas along with technical and historical explanations of Jacquard weaving.
Three prize-winners will be chosen, and the prizes will be: a cheque for €1500 for the Panel Prize; a cheque for €1000 for the Enterprise Prize, and a cheque for €700 for the Public Prize.
